END OF THE MONTH : 9 TRACKS THAT DESERVE YOUR ATTENTION

Posted

Selected by: Adam Emil Schierbeck, Jonathan Holst Bruus & Henrik Koefod Petersen

For this edition of our monthly highlights, we present you with nine tracks from this past month which may, or may not have gone under your radar. Either way, we definitely feel like these tracks are worth another share.

Y U QT – I Can’t Hold It In

I Can’t Hold It In by mysterious group Y U QT on Warehouse Rave is just the right amount of cheeky, danceable and genius. A great listen throughout – and a hot tip for both the dance floor and the sound system at home.

Bash – Jubilee (Al Wotton Remix)

The technoid stepper-universe of Trule Records just keeps expanding. This time with a tune from the Bash (AKA Julio Bashmore) delivered in a 2-stepping dubby remix by Al Wotton. How much echo is too much echo?

Breaka – Icy Grills

Breaka marks the debut of his own label Breaka Recordings with a 4-tracker consisting of breaks, breaks and… breaks. The standout tune from the EP, Icy Grills, reminds all who might have forgotten just how talented the young brit is when it comes to breaks

Shanti Celeste - Want

'Want' is a fast-paced, bubbly club anthem taken from UK-producer Shanti Celeste's debut album, released on her own imprint Peach Discs.

Pelada - Perra

Montreal-based duo Pelada just released their debut album 'Movimiento Para Cambio' on Berlin label PAN, which features lots of full-throtle cybernetic House cuts heavily influenced by the NYC queer club scene.

DJ Plead - Ambush

Taken from the Nervous Horizon label compilation, Melbourne-based, Lebaneese artist DJ Plead blends Middle Eastern percussion with hard-hitting, contemporary club music on his track 'Ambush'.

When Saints Go Machine - I Don't Tell

Taken from When Saints Go Machines's recent release, So Deep, I Don't Tell stands out as one of the highlights from the album. The simple piano melody alongside the electronic ambience (as well as the minimalistic composition) makes you listen carefully from the very beginning and it's impossible not to get touched by its emotional depth. It talks directly to the heart and you pay close attention to all of the words. Simplicity at its finest.

Crystallmess - Fear Of A / Black Planet

Another bombastic and gloomy banger from promising French producer, Crystallmess. Released this week on PAN, Crystallmess gives us four minutes of industrial drums and a vocal sample that keeps the tune interesting all the way through.

Ecco2K - Fruit Bleed Juice

Stockholm-based producer Ecco2K shows us how it's done with the track, Fruit Bleed Juice taken from his new album,E that got a surprise-release this week. Yves Tumor's characteristic vocals are featured on the track, and even though it only runs for about a minute and could be thought of as an interlude it is a complete track. An interesting choice in these times, where our attention span is shorter than ever before.
